ONE: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind."
TWO: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or
any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth
beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of
them that love me, and keep my commandments.
1 John 5:21 "Little children,
keep yourselves from idols. Amen."'
1 Corinthians 10:19, 20 "What say I then? that the idol
is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But
I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils,
and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with
devils."
THREE: Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God
in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
"Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou
shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's
throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the
city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair
white or black.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than
these cometh of evil."
James 5:12 "But above all things, my brethren, swear
not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but
let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation."
FOUR: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six
days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath
of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor
thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy
stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and
earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore
the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Matthew 12:8 "For the Son of man is Lord even of the
sabbath day."
Luke 4:16 "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been
brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath
day, and stood up for to read."
Mark 2:27 "And he said unto them, The sabbath was made
for man, and not man for the sabbath:"
Mark 16:1 "And when the sabbath was past, Mary
Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices,
that they might come and anoint him."
Matthew 24:20 "But pray ye that your flight be not in
the winter, neither on the sabbath day:"
Matthew 28:1 "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to
dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary
to see the sepulchre."
FIVE: Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days
may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Ephesians 6:1, 2
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy
father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;"
Matthew 19:19 "Honour thy father and thy mother: and,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
"For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that
curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by
whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made
the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition."
SIX: Thou shalt not kill.
Matthew 5:21, 22 "Ye have heard that it was said by
them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in
danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his
brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall
say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever
shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
Matthew 19:18 "He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said,
Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,"
1 John 3:15 "Whosoever hateth his brother is a
murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him."
James 2:11 "For he that said, Do not commit adultery,
said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou
art become a transgressor of the law."
SEVEN: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
James 2:11 "For he that said, Do not commit adultery,
said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou
art become a transgressor of the law."
Matthew 19:18 "He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said,
Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,"
Matthew 19:9 "And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put
away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another,
committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit
adultery."
Matthew 5:27, 28 "Ye have heard that it was said by
them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That
whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her
already in his heart."
EIGHT: Thou shalt not steal.
Matthew 19:18 "He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said,
Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,"
NINE: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy
neighbour.
Matthew 19:18 "He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said,
Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,"
TEN: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou
shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant,
nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's”
Romans 7:7 "What shall we say then? is the law sin? God
forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust,
except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."
1 John 5:2, 3 "By this we know that we love the
children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the
love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."
Matthew 5:19 "Whosoever therefore shall break one of
these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least
in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall
be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all.
For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou
commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the
law.
So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of
liberty."
Revelation 14:12 "Here is the patience of the saints:
here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
